Title: DOOR / HATCH: BACK DOOR CLOSER SYSTEM: DESCRIPTION (2008 Sequoia) |
|
Back Door cannot be Opened
|
DESCRIPTION
When the back door cannot be opened, one of the following may be the cause: 1) power back door ECU malfunction, 2) back door lock malfunction, 3) back door open switch malfunction, 4) main body ECU malfunction, 5) back door ECU malfunction, 6) power source circuit malfunction, or 7) position SW in prohibit condition. In the case that a fault is detected at the position switch, the back door stops functioning when the door position is full-latch (system prohibits opening of the door). Thereafter, the system prohibits back door operation until it detects a power reset of the ECU.
HINT:
Since the power back door system has functions that use CAN and LIN communication, first confirm that there is no malfunction in the communication system by inspecting the CAN and LIN communication functions in accordance with the "How to Proceed with Troubleshooting" procedures. Then, conduct the following inspection procedure.
